Gone Fishin’ Field Report 17/9/22
"He said it was good to talk about these things, but I said that talking doesn’t solve the problem – he had to believe by faith that Jesus took his sin punishment for him."
"He said it was good to talk about these things, but I said that talking doesn’t solve the problem – he had to believe by faith that Jesus took his sin punishment for him."
"Some will swell with pride, saying they are a good person, and they will be OK on judgement day. What they are really saying is that they are enjoying their sin so much that they are willing to go to hell for it."
I told him that he wasn't saved by giving his heart to Jesus - he was saved by believing by faith that Jesus gave HIS heart and HIS life for HIM.
I told Lea that all the good things she was trying to do in order to make things right were like trying to bribe a judge to look the other way from her crimes.
Telling people that Jesus will improve their life on earth, is playing on people’s pride and greed. When life doesn’t go as planned, they get a cancer diagnosis, or if they are ridiculed for their faith, they will become disillusioned with God.
"I asked him what would happen if Jesus wasn't there? He said he would face the fire. "So what is the only reason you wouldn't go to hell?". He replied "Because Jesus blocked my hell punishment". I asked him if he believed that, and he said "Yes". "
If you are using the excuse of thinking that certain people shouldn’t be saved, then maybe it’s time to take a long hard look in the mirror, and question why you deserve to go to heaven when you die.
Standing outside the shop smoking, was Remi. I gave him a $1m tract and held my breath, for I was pretty certain he would be a Muslim. After not knocking me out, I asked him where he would go after he died, and he said to heaven.
“Now, the hard question – do you believe that or not?”She was silent for a few seconds. “Yes. Yes, I think I believe that”I had no reason not to believe her, but only God knew her heart.
"I asked "Could it be that you don't want to admit that there was a creator, because it would mean that you would be somewhat indebted to Him?" She asked how did I know it was a him? It was a diversionary tactic, designed to throw me off. I told her it was a strawman response, and I needed her to think logically."
